SUMMARY:Learning and discussing about my city's environment - Analysing and improving my neighbourhood's environment
DESCRIPTION:First\, Mr.Papanikolaou gave a brief review of the two previous meetings in order to remind the children of their achievements. Then the students\, in their fixed groups\, thought about and collected fifteen things that we consume in our city. Thus\, they realized that in the city we only consume\, without producing anything\, following the linear economy\, which is very harmful to the environment and to people. This realisation was reinforced by the showing of two very interesting videos\, which highlighted the advantages and necessity of the circular economy. Finally\, the children were given the task of thinking and inventing\, again in groups\, a device that would support the circular economy. Two groups presented their proposals and the presentations will continue at the next and final meeting.

DESCRIPTION:In the framework of the educational programme “I learn\, I discuss about the environment of my city” approved by the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and coordinated by the NSRF 2014-2020\, the Regional Development Plan of Central Macedonia\, the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy of Thessaloniki and CHANTH\, the third two-hour interactive informative meeting of 26 students of section C3 with Mr. George Georgiadis\, Environmental Scientist\, graduate of the Department of Environment of the University of the Aegean\, holder of a Master’s Degree in Project Management and Development Programmes and PhD candidate of the Department of Spatial Planning and Development of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
